The After Special Event

YOUNG ADULTS | Come hang out with us on Sunday evening, May 25th, for a fun night of volleyball, good food, and a movie. Whether it’s your first time or it’s been a while, this is a great night to jump in. Meet at the church at 5:00 PM—we’ll see you there!

Parenting Seminar

Each night during Vacation Bible Adventure, we will be hosting a parenting seminar. This year, our theme will be Parenting Kids in a Digital Age. Each night, we will focus on important biblical principles of parenting our children, but with special application to issues that arise from cell phones, social media, the internet, and online gaming. All of these present challenges for parents that we have not been properly prepared to handle. Pastor James and special guests Natalie Keller and Sean West will be teaching. Pastor Sandy’s daughter Natalie is a fellow parent and a high school teacher. Sean is also a parent and the athletic director at Providence High School. Each night we will start with dinner at 5:30, followed by our parenting class. These three evenings will be beneficial for parents of children of all ages. It is all FREE and make sure to register for you (AND your spouse if you’re both attending). You can sign up here at this link!

AND BEYOND

High Schoolers- Join us Sunday, May 18 for an afternoon of Volleyball fun! The cost is free which includes lunch. Pickup is at the church at 4:o0 PM. Invite a friend and we hope to see you there!

The After is a Bible study for young adults who are out of college. We meet on Monday nights at 6:30 PM in the Calvary Cabin. Childcare is not provided. If you have questions or need directions, contact the church office or follow us on Instagram at @ccsmtheafter. For more info on our Young Adults ministry, check out this page.

Free Indeed is a support & recovery group for those struggling with addiction, habitual sin, and detrimental habits. We meet on Tuesday nights at 7:00 PM in the Brook. Men are led by Pastor James and the ladies are led by Donna Chapman. If you are being held in the grips of sin that you can't shake, we greatly encourage you to come out to find support from brothers and sisters in Christ and to be set free by Jesus.

OFC is an informal morning fellowship for men meeting on Wednesday mornings at 8:30 AM in the Brook (contact John Borger for more details). We discuss family, share humor, review local, national, and world issues, and spend time in casual study of God's word.

Middle School group meets on Wednesday Nights at the church from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. For more info about our Middle School Ministry, check out this page, or reach out to Pastor Matt Houston, or Allen Mlendough Jr.

United High School group meets on Wednesday Nights at the church from 6:00 - 7:30 PM. For more info about our High School Ministry, check out this page, or reach out to Pastor Andrew Taylor.

Men, our Discipleship Study has started! The cost is $10, or you can sign up at the Information Counter. The book will be available to you once you sign up. Join us on Thursdays for a 6-week study through Spiritual Leadership by J. Oswald Sanders, a classic on biblical leadership in the home and church. The dates of the six Thursdays we will meet are on your sign-up sheet that you will receive at the information counter. Make sure you put those dates on your calendar along with the reading assignments for those dates. We will meet at CalvaryCSM in the Sanctuary at 7 PM. There is also a morning group available to those who would rather meet early. That group will be led by Christian Powers and will meet at 7 AM at the Chick-fil-A on Highway 29 in Lilburn. Men of the church are invited to enjoy an afternoon of golf at Cedar Lake Golf Course. Our next tee time is Friday, May 23. Check-in is at 3:45 PM and the Tee Time is at 4:00 PM. The cost is $16, and you pay at the course. You must register to attend each golf outing. Click HERE to register for our next outing, or for more details.

Backpack Buddies

Backpack Buddies is an outreach partnering with Shiloh Elementary. Each week during the school year, we send home backpacks of food to students on the free and reduced lunch program. Each school day they are provided a meal by the school, however, on the weekends, they are often on their own. So our bags of food are sent home on Friday afternoons. Only certain foods can be sent home, so make sure you check out the approved foods list at the info counter! We are particularly looking for pudding cups, small cereal boxes, and canned meals. Thank you so much for your support!
